Job Summary

The primary function of the Parts Clerk is to ensure the timely operations to maintain GCSS-Army services, work orders, notifications, requisitions, receipt and issue of repair parts. Ensures that all Shop Stock locations are up to date and accurate with inventories. Maintains dedicated parts, requisitions replenishment items, and receives parts through the use of an approved US Army STAMIS/GCSS-Army/ DynMRO system. Issues parts out to their customers and double checks all locations for accessibility of parts. Serves as the primary contact between the customers and the items they need to maintain equipment.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Requests, receives and verifies, issues, processes and stocks parts and supplies.
  • Process and turns in recoverable/ repairable and excess parts.
  • Performs various inventories.
  • Unloads, unpacks, visually inspects, counts, segregates, pelletizes, and stores incoming supplies and equipment.
  • Conducts walk ups
  • Uses STAMIS GCSS-Army program or other approved automation systems.
  • Performs clean-up duties and policies the shop areas as assigned
  • Responsible for all indoor and outdoor part locations, ensuring that the items are neatly ordered and well maintained.
  • Operates various types of vehicles (Gator, Club Cars, and 5-ton commercial trucks).
  • Open and close work orders to include schedule services, execute and print 5988E’s and required reports.
  • Conducts reviews of safety stock.
  • Dispatching Operations.
  • Validates and processes GRID Passes.
  • Trains, mentors and enhances the performance of co-workers and other personnel.
  • Trains, cross-trains and attends training as required.
  • Participates in the Company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and Quality Control programs.
  • Complies with all Company rules, policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all safety, environmental and quality standards and applicable COPs and DOPs.
  • Writes performance and evaluation comments/reports as required.
  • Provides for accountability and proper care of all Government Furnished Equipment and Contractor Furnished Equipment.
  • Favorably interacts with internal/ external customers and fellow employees.
  • Will be required, on an as needed basis, to assist to perform functions in alternate areas of the project.
  • Uses various material handling devices (4k, 6k, 10k forklifts and pallet jacks).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment (up to 10K forklifts).
  • Must understand and be able to use Technical Manuals and/or ETMs.
  • Must be fluent and comfortable with the MS Office Suite.
  • Field of Expertise: Supply activities; ordering, storing, distribution or parts, manhour accounting, work order knowledge, and service reporting.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
  • Must have basic computer operating skills.
  • Ability to understand and use GCSS Army / DynMRO and other approved government systems. 
  • Respond in writing to performance evaluation comments and reports when places in a control/ assignment directive role.

Experience & Education

  • Must have two (2) year verifiable experience in military or civilian Warehouse/Parts supply system.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Work under stressful circumstances and meets shorts suspense dates.
  • Must be free of medical restriction/ limitations that prevent the performance of required duties and/ or prevent the wearing and utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must be physically capable of performing the work in conditions of extreme temperatures, low humidity, rain and blowing sand and dust.
  • Employees shall utilize all proper lifting procedures and practices associated with all lifting and material handling tasks that are assigned and associated with this job description.
  • May be required to work on uncommon hours of duty, extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and be able to obtain a military operator’s permit for each type of vehicle or equipment required to operate.
  • Must be able to meet CMF criteria in accordance with DA PAM 611-21 and AR 601-210.
